VACATION PICS - WASHINGTON PARK ZOO

There was a quaint little zoo within walking distance of our rental house, so Tuesday morning Rick, Malia and myself, along with my parents, walked to the zoo (Spencer opted to stay back and head to the beach with his cousins). This was Malia's first time at a zoo and we think she enjoyed it enough. She especially enjoyed when we'd let her out of her stroller, when she'd run off like a mad woman!

Here are Malia and me at the entrance. This little bear statue was so cute.

And, here we are at a scenic spot. There were actually lots of stairs in this zoo.

Malia enjoying the zebras ...

This was a cute little play area made out of some sort of branches ...

An almost family picture (minus Spencer) by the little waterfall ...

Love this picture of Malia in front of the butterfly. Surprised she sat still long enough for the picture.

Malia wasn't very hands-on at the petting area, but I couldn't resist this llama. He (or she) had the most affectionate eyes and seemed to melt when we rubbed its nose.

My parents by the bear ...

And here is Malia shortly after we left the zoo and began walking back to the house ...

Even though Spencer didn't go with us we were thinking about him, so we bought him a journal from the gift shop ... one made entirely of recycled elephant poo! Scentless, of course!
