FINGERPRINTS

Well, VBS is over for another year and I'm back from a week of church camp where I saw some old friends and met some new ones. Spencer has finished three weeks of summer theater, having had performances Friday and Saturday night. The play was awesome! Spencer and all the other kids did a fanstastic job. We're in final preparations for our big rummage sale with Brian and Tonya which takes place this Friday and Saturday. Needless to say, I took a nice power nap this afternoon, which has done me well.

Here's what's happening in adoption world. While away at camp, the CCAA updated "the box" to reflect that January 2007 LID's were through the review room and are now in the matching room. Congrats to all these families who have finally reached this milestone. This information doesn't affect our adoption at all, but as I've mentioned before it's always nice to see the CCAA making progress.

When I returned home from camp this past Friday and looked through the mail I saw that we had received our letters from USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) with our fingerprint dates ... July 3rd at 1:00 pm. Our current fingerprints are due to expire in mid-July, so we're needing our THIRD set, which will be valid for another 15 months. Fingerprints MUST be valid to travel to China. It's nice to know these should be our last ones, plus we'll be able to use our one-time free extension so we won't have to pay the fee - we just missed being able to use it the last time around. Now we're hoping God works great things to allow us to travel before needing to update our other citizenship and immigration paperwork which would need another homestudy update. This particular piece of paperwork expires in early October. It, too, must be valid through our travels to China.

We're anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next batch of referrals to see how far they get this next time around. We'll probably now sometime after the 4th of July.
