A Little Perspective

I've taken a few minutes to look at referral numbers for 2007. For the year, the CCAA got through 102 LID dates, which is around three month's worth. There are 52 LID dates ahead of us to be matched (less than two months).

Of course, an important piece of information to note is the average days of LIDs included in each referral batch during 2007 - which reflects the year's average was 8.5 LIDs per referral batch (which usually arrive once a month).

Here are some realistic possibilities about when we might get our referral ...

If the CCAA refers 8.5 days each month we would get our referral in July and travel in September.

If the CCAA refers 6 days each month we would get our referral in September and travel in November.

If the CCAA refers 5 days each month we would get our referral in November and travel in January 2009.

(I used 6 and 5 days because the average in the last 10 referral batches has been 5.6 LIDs per batch.)

Of course, the continued frustration is not knowing when our referral will come. If we knew the date to expect it sure would make things so much easier! I'll keep you posted. Sorry there's not been much to report on, and what news there has been to report has been depressing.

On a positive note ... we should at least receive our referral for Malia sometime this year. We may not travel yet this year, but knowing who she is and what she looks like would sure be nice and is likely to happen in 2008!
