The CCAA updated their website late last night to show that they referred through November 14, 2005. That makes a measly seven days of LID's in this batch, which puts us 87 LID's away from our referral for Malia. It's hard for me to get excited about 7 days when earlier this year they were referring in the teens (19 and 16 for January and February respectively) each month. As of this batch, the CCAA is referring an average of 10 LID's per month so far this year. And, allow me to put some more perspective on the matter - there were times when the CCAA was referring one to two months of LID's at a time! So, it's hard for me to be excited about 7 days.
The CCAA has recently had several meetings with adoption agencies all over the world. Information coming from these meetings indicate that the batches will remain small to get through the rest of 2005 dossiers, but should go back to 15 day batches beginning with 2006 dossiers. I'm expecting it to take three more months to get through the November 2005 dossiers - which would get us to October of this year. Then, if the CCAA does refer 15 days in every batch, it will take two months for December 05 dossiers - which would get us to December of this year - two months for January 06 dossiers - which would get us to February 2008 - and then we would be in the next batch - which would put us having a referral in March 2008 - 25 months from LID - and traveling in May. Uuuggghhh!!!
