How We Spent St. Patty's Day

We got a special treat this week...four free box seat tickets to Saturday's Pacers game. Okay...so we're not huge Pacers fans, but allowing Spencer to experience these types of events is something we just can't pass up...and, the tickets were free!

Since we had four tickets we let Spencer invite a friend. Here he is with his buddy, Johnathan (you may recognize him from the 20,000 G blog), who happens to be a Pacers fan.

This next picture is a view from our seats. We weren't on the lower level, but the level above that. Box seat areas have people who come and take your food orders and bring it to you. This is definitely a perk that we don't get to experience in "normal" life.

After the game we stayed for a few photo ops. A very nice woman offered to take our group picture. You'll notice that Johnathan is the only one wearing Pacers gear. Spencer and I opted for green since it was St. Patrick's Day. Rick was a brave soul and wore red - the color of the opposing team! I guess since it was an IU shirt people let it pass. (Too bad the Hoosiers couldn't pull out a win tonight - we listened to the game on the way home.) Oh, and Beth...I did wear my new orange flip flops!

It's really amazing to see how things look so different in person than they do on tv. All the little time-out activities you don't see on tv were fun. The boys enjoyed getting up to dance and play air guitar to the music. The guy on the screen below was quite a riot and a crowd favorite. The camera men got several shots of him.

Wait! Did you notice the score? The Pacers got themselves a victory tonight and stopped a very long losing streak. What a way to celebrate St. Patty's Day!
