After two solid months of planning, we pulled off the big surprise! My Mom celebrates her 60th birthday this weekend and rather than going out for our normal family dinner, we opted instead to throw a big surprise birthday party. Lots and lots of family and friends joined in on the celebration. How so many people were able to not spill the beans about this party is beyond me, but I'm so glad everyone pulled it off! She was very much caught off guard when she entered the social hall to the church and realized the room was filled with family and friends to celebrate her, rather than the hoards of kids she was planning to see when she "picked up her grandson from a church event."
In addition to my Mom's 60th birthday, we also celebrated my parent's 40th wedding anniversary. It was such a fun afternoon!
